ZAMBOANGA
CITY: Some 130,000 bags of well-milled rice arrived in this city last Nov. 4, a
latest National Food Authority (NFA) report said.

Provincial Manager Gaudencio Nuega stated that the new rice arrival is from Vietnam
ferried by MV Hoanam, is 25% broken and will be sold in the market at P27.00
per kilo and P1,350 per sack.
Nuega
added that they have finished unloading it from the wharf to the NFA warehouse
in Brgy. San Roque.
The
manager said he expects the coming of another allocation of 210,000 bags from Thailand
here by December, which will then be distributed to other areas in the
southernmost region.

said that of the 210,000 bags, 100,000 will go to Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi Tawi
while 35,000 will be allocated for Sibugay, Dipolog, and Pagadian.
