CITY: The trade and industry department (DTI) in the region conferred the
“Bagwis” Seal of Excellence to 11 business institutions of this city during the
Consumers’ Month finale, the PIA reported.
This
number represented almost 41 percent of the total number of the Bagwis seal awardees
in the region where one was conferred the Gold while 14 got silver and 12 were for
bronze, Delia M. Ayano, DTI provincial director said.
Bagwis
seal of excellence was formerly called the DTI seal of certified establishment and is
awarded to businesses that practiced fair trading and endorse consumer rights
and welfare.
Recognized
by the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and the ASEAN Committee
on Consumer Protection (ACCP), it gives due recognition to entrepreneurs for
being responsible in their business operations.
All
the Bagwis awardees came from Ozamiz City, of whom six were conferred silver,
and the remaining got the bronze Seal.
