Ozamiz police feeds Gala students

OZAMIZ CITY: Members of the Ozamiz City Police Station (OCPS) conducted a school-feeding at the Gala National High School (NHS), Oct. 17, benefitting some 100 students, reports the PIA.

Police C/Supt. Michael Cadiogan Bawayan Jr. said the feeding activity was in line with the 22nd National Children’s Month Celebration (NCM) celebrated nationwide this month.

Bayawan added that a symposium tackling the Rights of Every Child, Street Crime Prevention and Safety Tips, and Anti-Illegal Drug Abuse Prevention Awareness came first before the feeding.

Discussions about RA 7610 or the “Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, exploitation and Discrimination,” and RA 10364 or the “Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2012” were also made at the Gala Multi-purpose Hall.

The PNP also inserted some law provisions explaining the “Revitalized Campaign Against Illegal Gambling, Juvenile Delinquency Prevention,” Bomb Threat Awareness, and Provincial Ordinance No. 05-12 or “The Revised Smoke-Free Ordinance of Misamis Occidental” and the ill effects of smoking and second hand smoke.

This was followed by the distribution of information materials and pamphlets about the republic acts mentioned earlier.

Meanwhile, a new set of officers for the school’s Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) took their oath, after their election and discussion of their duties and responsibilities in the maintenance of peace and order and deterrence of crime inside the school by PO3 Cheryl Wagas-Ano-os.
