OZAMIZ CITY: Members of the Ozamiz
City Police Station (OCPS) conducted a school-feeding at the Gala National High
School (NHS), Oct. 17, benefitting some 100 students, reports the PIA.

Bawayan Jr. said the feeding activity was in line with the 22nd National
Children’s Month Celebration (NCM) celebrated nationwide this month.
Bayawan added that a symposium
tackling the Rights of Every Child, Street Crime Prevention and Safety Tips,
and Anti-Illegal Drug Abuse Prevention Awareness came first before the feeding.
Discussions about RA 7610 or the
“Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, exploitation and
Discrimination,” and RA 10364 or the “Expanded Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act
of 2012” were also made at the Gala Multi-purpose Hall.
The PNP also inserted some law provisions
explaining the “Revitalized Campaign Against Illegal Gambling, Juvenile
Delinquency Prevention,” Bomb Threat Awareness, and Provincial Ordinance No.
05-12 or “The Revised Smoke-Free Ordinance of Misamis Occidental” and the ill
effects of smoking and second hand smoke.
This was followed by the
distribution of information materials and pamphlets about the republic acts mentioned
earlier.
Meanwhile, a new set of officers
for the school’s Student Crime Prevention Committee (SCPC) took their oath,
after their election and discussion of their duties and responsibilities in the
maintenance of peace and order and deterrence of crime inside the school by PO3
Cheryl Wagas-Ano-os.
